I started out at he home of former senator and current actor Fred Thompson. He has a beautiful home just outside D.C. I took a photo with his daughter, but due to there celebrity status I have chosen not to put it on the web, but I will show it to you if you want to see it. Then we started back to Tennessee and that is when it got tiring. Our intention was to drive to Pigeon Forge and spend the evening. Well that turned into Strawberry plains and that turned into Knoxville and well as you can guess we made it home late last night and slept in our own beds. Well I am home know and hope to travel again soon. So when if your planing a trip and if you don't have a gnome of your own just call old Alfred I will go. Remember a trip without a gnome is like that crazy aunt, she can be fun but you can tell something is missing.
Save me some Chili peppers,
Alfred

Washington, DC - Day Three

Hello Friends,

Today was splendid, I had a big day at the Smithsonian institute. This is a must do for any visitor to the capitol. I got to see artifacts from every period in history. I enjoyed the museum of American history the most. It includes exhibits from all the American wars and every pivotal point in history. I saw a piece of steel from the world trade center and a stained glass window from Saddam's palace, but my favorite piece was the "puffy shirt" from Seinfeld.

Then we went to the museum of natural history. This is a cool place, but I don't agree with their use of a museum to push a evolution agenda. I may only be a gnome, but I have read my Bible and know that that is poppycock. We ended our day at the Union Station. I plan to take a trip by train in the near future so I think I will see some more train stations. I start home tomorrow but my travels are not over. A gnome is not at home unless he is a gnome on the roam.

You cant feed the bears, but you can feed a Gnome,
Alfred

Washington, DC - Day Two

Hello Friends,

Day two was full of excitement. I started out at Arlington National Cemetery, I enjoyed this greatly. The cemetery is a sobering reminder that freedom isn't free. I did not feel that photos at the cemetery were appropriate so nothing to show you from there. Next I Found myself in a heap of trouble. The rules for the White house are not clear, I read them over and I saw nothing about catapulting myself into the grounds to take a closer look. Not the best idea, but i did get to meet a very nice policeman and his horse. He told me if I tried a stunt like again that I would spend more time in D.C. than I had planed for.

I did get to talk to some eager listeners about my plan for imigration, but they would only listen as long as I was dropping popcorn for them.

Next I got to see the Washington monument and the Lincoln memorial. Wow those things are huge especially when you only stand twelve inches tall.

I plan to go to the Smithsonian tomorrow and to Union station and hopefully stay out of trouble.

Keep the porch lights on so the Gnomes can see,
Alfred

Washington, DC - Day One

Well Here I am. My maiden voyage was to D.C. I stowed away in a red bag (quite comfortable I say) anyway I found myself at the National Zoo.

I took the opportunity to become acquainted with a nice young African elephant I cant remember her name but she was a little heavy for me anyway.

Then I befriended a monkey on a bench he gave me a banana and I gave him a chili pepper.
